Frequently Asked Questions
What ages can learn to ski or snowboard?
Kids can start skiing from around age 3, and snowboarding typically from 5–6. There is no upper limit — one of our proudest students learned skiing at 70. Coaches who specialise in children teach through games, in your child's language.
I'm a complete beginner. What should I book?
Start with a half-day private lesson (3 hours). Most beginners are linking turns on gentle runs after one or two sessions. Your coach will recommend next steps honestly — no upselling.
How do I get to Niseko?
Fly to New Chitose Airport (CTS), then take a resort shuttle bus or private transfer (about 2.5–3.5 hours). See our airport transfer guide for the full breakdown.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation 30+ days before your lesson with full deposit refund. Inside 30 days a sliding fee applies (20%–100%). Every booking includes one free reschedule if requested 7+ days ahead. Full details on the Lessons page.
How does gear sizing work?
When you book rental gear, we ask for height, weight, shoe size and skill level, then bring properly fitted gear to your Niseko hotel between 18:00–23:00 — swaps are free if anything feels off.
Where do we meet the coach?
At an agreed meeting point at the resort — typically by the main lift base. You'll get a photo, exact pin and your coach's contact the day before the lesson.
Which languages do you teach in?
English, Mandarin and Cantonese (plus one coach who teaches in Vietnamese). Tell us your preference when booking and we'll match accordingly.
When should I book for peak season?
Christmas through Chinese New Year sells out first — for those weeks, book 2–3 months ahead. Early December and March have the best availability and lower prices.
